Rhinestone Size Comparison Chart
Rhinestones come in three basic units of measurement including the "ss" or "stone size" which is the modern way of sizing rhinestones; the "pp" which stands for "pearl plate" which stems from the historical measurement of pearls put on a plate that had holes to be shaken so that the pearls would slip through the holes and sized according to the whole through which they fell, and "mm", which of course stands for millimeter, in standard metric measurements. Sizes of rhinestones are approximate and vary greatly by manufacturer and time period in which they were made.
